Summary: Himalayas. Darjeeling is a beautiful hill station with stunning views of the mountains, and from there, I embarked on an adventurous journey towards Kursiong. Travelling through treacherous terrain and Dak Bungalows, I finally reached Serampore, a Danish settlement known for the Baptist College and the missionary works of Carey, Marshman, and Ward. The Baptist College, with its impressive library and manuscripts, stands as a testament to the missionaries' efforts. From Serampore, I visited Barrackpore and explored the surrounding areas, including the Ganges River and the park. The journey continued as I experienced the perils of swampy jungle terrains near Silliguri and rode on wretched ponies to reach Kursiong. The Dak Bungalow at Chambattie provided a rustic resting place before continuing the journey towards the majestic Himalayas, offering a glimpse into the rich history and diverse landscapes of the Bengal Provinces.
