Summary: The critical edition of Pallipala Dhanapala’s Tilakamajijarisara, hitherto unpublished, is presented as a Sanskrit Mahakavya, preserving the original charm and structure with simple language and apt descriptions. The work tells the story of prince Harivahana's love affair with celestial princess Tilakamajari, and prince Samaraketu's romance with semi-celestial princess Malayasundari, spanning across different settings from Ayodhya to celestial realms. The text is edited by Prof. Kansara with a preface by Nagin J. Shah, Acting Director of L. D. Institute of Indology, Ahmedabad. Pallipala Dhanapala's compendium of the TM is expected to generate interest among Sanskrit literature students, providing a deeper understanding of the original work by Kavi Dhanapala. The work aims to revive the appreciation for classical Sanskrit prose-romance by highlighting the nuances of the narrative and characters despite neglect by historians of literature.
